Buy the bernette if you want coverstitch and nothing else, and you value being able to buy it anywhere. Ignore its listing title, which repeats the word "Overlock" eight times and is actively misleading — this is not an overlocker.
Buy the Juki if you make denim or workwear and want a chain stitch as well. Check the listing carefully in the United States, where it is titled MCS-1600.
Only if you make jeans or workwear. It is the stretchy, strong seam on the side of work trousers. Most home sewing never needs it.
