SewVerdict is a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.

What that means in practice

Every "Check price on Amazon" button on this site is an affiliate link. If you click it and buy something, Amazon pays us a percentage of the sale. You pay exactly the same price as you would reaching Amazon any other way.

Our links are internal — they point at a page on this site, which then redirects you to your own country's Amazon store. That is why a visitor in France lands on amazon.fr and a visitor in Germany on amazon.de, each with the appropriate affiliate tag. It is also why those links carry rel="nofollow sponsored": they are advertising, and they are labelled as advertising to search engines.

Where this could bias us, and what we do about it

Commission is a percentage, so in principle we earn more from expensive recommendations. Three structural facts push against that, and we would rather you could check them than take our word:

• Sewing machines and their accessories sit in a single Amazon fee category, so the rate we earn is the same whether you buy a five-euro packet of needles or a two-thousand-euro embroidery machine.
• The highest score on this site belongs to a twenty-euro accessory. Several products under a hundred outrank machines costing ten times more.
• Where we cannot verify that a product exists on your country's Amazon store, we send you to a search rather than to a product page — a link that earns us less and costs you nothing.

What we never do

We do not accept payment for placement, ranking or favourable coverage. We do not publish sponsored content. We do not change a recommendation because a product went out of stock or because a different one pays better — it cannot pay better, and that is the point.

Prices

Where you see a live price on this site, it is fetched from Amazon's price history for your own market and cached for a few hours. Prices change constantly and the figure on Amazon at the moment of purchase is the only one that counts. Indicative prices written into our reviews are exactly that — indicative.
