Why we recommend chalk over the more convenient options. Heat-erasable pens are wonderful right up to the moment they are not. The mark disappears under the iron, which reads as success, and returns in cold weather as a faint line across the front of a finished garment. It is not recoverable. Chalk has no such failure mode.
